New gear...First thing first; The Olympus E-5 was released this week. It looks almost like my E-3 exept it got a bigger screen, and the button layout is somewhat changed. Many Olympus users (like me) was dissapointed, and thinks this is the death of the FourThirds system. However Olympus claims, dispite in using the old "PEN" sensor, that a new image processor chip along with some other tweaks and improvements provides the users with the highest quality images seen from Olympus so far. ..., and some of the test-shots released looks kinda promising. I've even seen a ISO6400 sample that actually looks good. .., but I'm not convinced yet. I'll have to see a real test to make up my mind about liking it or not. It also had "other features" ..., but exept for the video feature, I really don't care that much because I already got most in my E-3. The videofeature was also dissapointing. Only 720p and not even 24fps. ..., I hope a firmware upgrade can give it the right modes.., and possibly add 1080p/24. That would rock!Late tuesday evening, I got my "almost brand new" Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4!! I've been wanting this lens for a long time, and because of some circumstances; I finally got it. One good thing is the price; paid under half the price of a new one (and in Norway; this lens is waay expensive). It's still expensive at half-off, but as I'm becomming a father in near future; I really think this lens is going to help me save a few of our good moments as a new family. I've tried the lens a bit, and I really like it. It's a very fast prime that's also very sharp. Wednesday, I went to Trondheim representing my employer in a
conference of some sort. Before I went ther I got in contact with a
person living in Trondheim that got som "old camera stuff" that he
didn't need..., so I said I could take it. I went there and got away
with an ok package;
Then ... after all this booring text; Are you ready for some camera pr0n? All taken by myself with my girlfriends E-3 and the Zuiko 50mm f/2. First off; My "new" OM 10 with my 85mm f/2 fitted: Then together with some of my other fast OM primes; 50mm f/1.4 and f/1.8: A couple of comparisonshots of the two 50mm. Just look how small the f/1.8 is!
... and here you can see the small grain of dust inside the 1.8. A few shots of my E-3 with the Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 (which is a BIG piece of glass) Finally; the OM10 vs the E-3 with my Leica For more information about OM Zuikos - I recommend this site. Added by myself, 16.09.2010 21:00 |
