Zeizz, Leica, Olympus... Vintage and new.A couple of weeks ago, I was in the mood for taking some pictures, and had a "lightning concept" I wanted to try out. I found my studioflashes, softboxes and christmas led-lights and started working... The first pictures is of my Zeiss Ikoflex (1c, 886/16). Produced in the years 1956-1960, it's a twin lens reflex design with a 75mm f/3,5 (-f/16) Zeiss Novar-Anastigmat lens. Shutter speeds; 1-1/300sec with flash sync at all speeds. I think this is a lovely piece of photographic history. These pictures are taken by my Olympus E-3 with the excellent Zuiko Digital 50mm f/2 at f2 and f/2.2 (in order to get the background led-lights to be perfectly rounded). 50*50 softbox camera right at "minimum" setting. 20*90cm softbox camera left front at some distance at minimum setting. Blue and white LED lights at the back (in case of blindness....). Next up is my beautiful Leica D Summilux 25/1.4 for FourThirds mount. I really love the lens... both its looks and its performance. ... and speaking of performance; The equipment that's taken these next 3 pictures is my E-3 with an old OM Zuiko 50/1.8 from ... the 80's or something. Wide open at f/1.8 it's still pretty sharp, and produces nice pictures with a lovely bokeh! Same setup as the previous pictures, except for the softbox at camera left. Finally..., the lens that's been taking the three pictures above; the OM Zuiko 50/1.8. It's a very compact lens..., almost as a pancake, but it performs very vell! ... and just to point out how much better the bokeh of a 30 year old lens is than a zoom lens..; this next picture is taken by the (very good) Zuiko Digital 14-54 f/2.8-3.5 zoom lens. At 54mm wide open..., the bokeh looks like crap compared to the faster lenses like the 50/1.8 and the 50/2. Hope you liked the pictures. There are more to come... I've gotten a few "new" OM Zuiko lenses... and will take som pictures and test them a bit in the next few weeks. ... like the 180/2.8 and the 100/2.8 (silver nose). Added by myself, January 2011 |
